So, I just got back from Art conference last weekend, and I am drowning with ideas!! It's a great and frustrating feeline, becauase at the moment I do not have time to sit down and create many things. I did create a few examples at the conference, which is so helpful!
I started the tree weaving project this week with my fifth graders! I had previously found the lesson plan, but couldn't find enough branches to use. So this past week I spent 45 mins. in the woods looking for branches we could use. I did find enough!! I am so excited about this project. I can't wait to post my kids examples!
My 1-6th graders are all doing a Picasso unit right now, but later I think I will have my fifth and sixth graders do the Elements of art project as you see pictured here.
Another project that I can't wait to explore with 6th grade. This would be a good transition into color theory after studying the elements of art.
